How it all began!

“My Biggest Fear”

Jonathan: This is the song that I wrote specifically and intentionally to get Karimah to star in the video for. The videoshoot was the first time that we met in person. I had shot several videos with my good friend Brandon (@BRVLZ) and asked him to come shoot this one for me. I sent him the video treatment and coordinated times to make it happen! This verse is an original written over the instrumental of 6LACK’s “Pretty Little Fears”.

“I was going to try everything to build rapport with her, until we could finally meet. I knew that if I met her in person, that was all I needed.”

— Jonathan

“In the beginning I was unsure of his intentions with me, but he kept proving to me that he was the man I needed in my life.”

— Karimah

A bond that can’t be broken

How we met is a long story, so I will try to keep it as short as possible for you. Basically, we met on social media through our mutual friend, Christian. He is a photographer and I saw he posted a picture of Karimah from a recent photoshoot she was doing with him. I saw the picture and went to Karimah’s page. Being interested, I had to find a way to make a non-typical approach to start a conversation. I saw she did music, so I checked out a song she did and I loved it! I decided to approach her with the idea of us collaborating on a song together, which wouldn’t happen for quite a while. Though, my initial approach was business so it made it easy to keep in contact with her without it seeming strange. We had a ton in common, when it came to music, so this made it so easy to talk to her. I kept in contact and wanted to get to know her more so we exchanged dm’s with one another for months before she even gave me her number. All this time I’m trying to find a way to meet her in-person but it isn’t working out. After so many failed attempts at meeting, I got the idea to write a song for her. I asked her to be in the video and the rest is history! - Jonathan

How it’s going

Blessed. We have grown alot in our marriage since our daughter Peace has arrived and our bond is getting stronger everyday. We both have been growing spiritually and have been preparing for baby number 2 to arrive! We recently hit a milestone of 3 years of marriage in December that we are grateful for. We have still been consistent in our individuals goals and creative talents and are excited with the progress we’ve made. There is much more work for us to do both physically and spiritually and we are looking forward to the journey keeping God at the center of our lives! Thank you for taking the time to sow into our family with the gifts and the love!
